FBC Kids

First Baptist Tuscaloosa is devoted to partnering with parents and families to help build strong spiritual foundations for each of the children in our ministry and in our community in a fun, encouraging, and safe atmosphere.

David Jennings is our Children’s Pastor. David joined FBCT as Children’s Pastor in 2018. Prior, David served kids and families at First Baptist Baton Rouge. He also previously worked at Group Publishing, where he aided in the development of Children’s level curriculum. In his free time, you may find him playing one of his 180+ board games he has, or trying out a new escape room. He's married to Lindsey, and together they have a daughter, McKenna. Sandy Howell joined FBCT as Ministry Assistant in 2001. Always willing to share a smile or nugget of wisdom, she helps the church in various ways. She has two grandchildren, Ellis and Rhodes. As a safety/security measure, First Baptist Church uses a computerized check-in system for children. Parents are given a security badge to show to leaders in order to pick-up their child. We value the safety of our families.

We provide WorshipCare for children birth – PreK during both worship hours (8:30 a.m. & 11:00 a.m.), and Life Groups for all ages at 9:45 a.m. At the 11:00 hour in addition to WorshipCare, we have Kids Praise, which is a children’s worship time for Kindergarten – 3rd graders.

We offer birth-preschool Bible activities and elementary discipleship classes from 5:30-7pm. Doors open at 5pm!

On Wednesday nights, we serve a church-wide meal from 5-5:45pm in our Fellowship Hall. Music and Hyfi Bible study (for kids birth-5th grade) is in the family building from 5:45 - 7:30pm.
