Where did we come from? Why is there pain and suffering in the world? Studying the first book of the Bible is the key that unlocks the rest of scripture. The foundational topics in this book are as alive and relevant as today’s news headlines. Join us as we study the beginning of God’s plan for redeeming humanity. (Book and homework are optional.)

Disciplemaking Training led by Beth Yates

Wednesday Studies Begin August 16 and 30
The Last Days of Jesus (August 16) AND The Forgiveness of Jesus (begins September 27)
These studies will lead the group to dig deeper into the life, death and resurrection of Jesus. Each teaching session begins in Israel— showing key places important to that week’s study. From Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem to His glorious resurrection, The Last Days of Jesus Bible study provides an overview of 6 major events surrounding Jesus’ Death and Resurrection. From the parable of the Prodigal Son to Jesus’ forgiveness of Peter, The Forgiveness of Jesus DVD Bible study provides an overview of 6 major events and parables used to highlight one of Jesus’ most profound teachings: forgiveness.
led by Linda Humber, 9 a.m.; Room FB313; cost: $7.50 each book
Entrusted by Beth Moore (begins August 30)
We were never meant to take this journey of faith alone or in secret. God has entrusted us with the great and mighty gift of the gospel, something too precious and life-giving to keep to ourselves. In this Bible study, Beth will encourage you to guard what God has entrusted to you, further His kingdom by sharing Christ with others, and pour into future generations just as Paul once mentored Timothy.
led by Julie Guy, 9:30 a.m.; Room FB308; cost: $13
Precept Study: 2 Corinthians ( begins August 30)
Second Corinthians is a book about ministry, various kinds of ministry. But in the midst of ministry, sometimes Christians are burdened beyond strength, despairing of life, having fears within and conflicts without. How do we cope with those things? This book tells us how to be strong in the Lord when accusations and persecutions are directed toward us, how to have confidence in Him and not lose heart, and even how to correct those who are our accusers.
led by Patsy Griffith, 9:30 a.m.; Room FB311; cost: $22
Wednesday Night study: Ten Women of the Bible (August 16)
As we study the lives of the women in the Bible, we find important truths that God wants us to grasp. They lived in a different world than our own, but we find ourselves facing the same issues they faced. Yet even more, these women show us there is a God who sees us where we are and loves us for who we are.
led by Lisa Skelton, 6 p.m. in Room FB308; cost: $13
