Sunday Night Study Begins August 19
Making Room: A Study of Biblical Hospitality from She Reads Truth
Biblical hospitality is about more than sharing a meal or inviting friends over. It is the work of making room in our lives for others. True hospitality is a posture of charity toward the poor, of welcome toward the displaced, and of humility and gentleness toward the hurting. We will see what Scripture has to say about making room for others—our neighbors, the poor, our betrayers, strangers, widows, orphans, children, and more.
led by Beth Yates and Bethany Li; 5:00-6:30 p.m.; Room FB308; Cost for study guide: $20
Wednesday Studies Begin August 15 and September 5
What in the World is Going On? by David Jeremiah (begins August 15)
Events in our world are rapidly occurring and each event is accompanied by a sign post that points to the return of Christ. Learn more in Dr. Jeremiah’s vital series on the End Times —-What in the World is Going On? Discover ten prophetic clues you cannot afford to ignore.
led by Linda Humber, 9 a.m.; Room FB313; cost: $10
Wednesday Night study: The Gospel of Mark by Lisa Harper (begins August 15)
Throughout his account, Mark unveils a Jesus of unparalleled power and authority but also a Jesus of humility and love. And while this Jesus invites each of us into a greater story through His teachings, He demands we come as active participants. We must acknowledge Him, seek salvation in Him, and follow Him wherever He leads. In The Gospel of Mark, you’ll follow Jesus through His days of early ministry to the cross and discover what it means to be the recipients of His overflowing compassion and the very reason for His all-consuming passion.
led by Maryanne Burdg & Lisa Skelton, 6 p.m. in Room FB308
Precept Study: Acts Part 1 (begins September 5)
Learn how God spread the gospel through witnesses of Jesus’ death and resurrection, and from their examples, how you too can witness to others. Stand in awe of the power of God in believers to endure persecution and suffering for the cause of Christ and embrace His power in your life. Be encouraged by the results of faithful servants holding forth truth in a dark world; watch as the church grows numerically, geographically, and culturally.
led by Patsy Griffith, 9:30 a.m.; Room FB311
