The Single Adult
Ministry of First
Baptist Church is having
a special luncheon for
young single adults
within the church and in
the community. All
single adults in their
20’s and 30’s are
invited. Come and enjoy
a time of food and
fellowship! There will
be door prizes, too!
Spread the word! Invite
your friends, family
members, and co-workers.
Reservations are not
necessary, but they
would be helpful.

GAP - Graduates and
Professionals
(early-mid 20‘s)
Room 310B Children's Center, 9:45 am.
Leader: Bruce Barrett
This newly created class is for those young (early to mid
20’s) unmarried adults between college and the traditional
single adult Sunday School class. It is a great class
for graduate students and those just starting their careers.
Teaching the GAP class is Dr. Bruce Barrett, Associate
Professor in the Information Systems, Statistics, and
Management Science Department of the University of Alabama.
Not only is Bruce gifted and knowledgeable, he is passionate
– especially about his profession, his family, and his
Christian faith. He and his wife, Diana, have two young
children, David and Elizabeth.
Young Single Adults
(early 20‘s-mid 30’s)

Center, 9:45 a.m.
Leader: Joe Chandler
This class
consists of young single adults (mostly never-married) who
are faithful in their attendance and Bible study. Many
participate in outside activities such as the single adult
Bible study each Thursday evening. The class is taught by
Joe Chandler, a faithful church member and Gideon. A father
of two daughters and grandfather of four (two grandsons and
two granddaughters), Joe is retired from B.F. Goodrich. His
wife, Mary Alice, is a retired school teacher. Both
daughters, school teachers as well, and their families
attend First Baptist Church. Joe enjoys traveling in their
motor home, Alabama football and baseball, and "working
out". Mary Alice enjoys cooking, music and family.
